Nikki Hooper

Dr Nikki Hooper is an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Te Whatu Ora Waitaha with a sub-specialty interest in paediatric orthopaedics and adult foot and ankle surgery. She is also a senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Otago, Canterbury School of Medicine and convenes the Orthopaedics and Advanced Surgery module. Nikki undertook her orthopaedic training in New Zealand, before completing a fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics at BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver. This set the foundation for multi-centre collaboration, and since returning to New Zealand Nikki has been responsible for establishing the Christchurch branch of the International Hip Dysplasia Registry, with a goal of improving outcomes in children with hip dysplasia.
